CTEC North America 2022 Training Courses – New Date: May 15-20, 2022

Training classes will start on Wednesday, May 18th after lunch and end at noon on Friday, May 20th. To register for training, please select this option when you register for the conference. Breakfast, breaks, and lunch will be provided each day. Below are the training schedule and class descriptions. If you register for training, please also plan to bring a laptop computer with you. Our training classes do not require you to install any special software. The only requirements are Wi-Fi connectivity and a browser such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge Chromium, or Safari for Apple devices. You are welcome to attend these classes without bringing your own computer. However, to get the most out of these classes, we highly recommend this as most of these sessions include time for hands-on exercises.

Wednesday, May 18 – Two Afternoon Options

1:00 PM – 5:00 PM | Fundamentals of the LabVantage Portal

The new LabVantage 8.7 Portal allows your external customers to send data to the LIMS and retrieve certain data in a manner that is controlled and secure. This training class will include the configuration of the new Portal, how to manage users, and how to use the new Testing Request and Kit Request Portal apps.

1:00 PM – 5:00 PM | Configuration Management and Transfer (CMT)

Moving data and configuration between systems can a challenge. Configuration Management and Transfer (CMT) simplifies this by providing robust support for the identification of change controls, check-in/check-out of objects under modification, intelligent packaging, importing, and the ability to specifically identify changes made between two points in time or and while importing a CMT package from another system.

8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Learning the Ins and Outs of LabVantage Analytics

The new LabVantage Analytics module offers a complete integrated solution to perform Business Intelligence (BI) as well as Artificial Intelligence (AI). This class will teach students how to building interactive BI dashboards, charts, graphs, reports and AI data science workflows in the context of LIMS and external data. During the class we also discuss various use cases across sectors in our industry.

8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | ELN & LES Introduction

The LabVantage ELN allows users to view, edit and manage laboratory data in a flexible manner that emulates paper documentation. This training class will teach you the fundamentals of our ELN including Workbooks, Worksheets and the Worksheet Manager. Using a similar paperless approach, the LabVantage LES generates Worksheets that are based on a Test Method and a Global Worksheet Template. Once implemented, LES Worksheets can help enforce laboratory procedures, improve the quality of captured data, and lead users through the execution of complex testing methods. This hands-on training will give you the introductory knowledge to dig deeper into the ELN & LES on your own system.

Friday, May 20 – Two Half-Day Options

8:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Sample Monitoring

The Sample Monitoring module enables you to schedule the collection of samples and keep track of test results so you can monitor the performance of your process. This could be for environmental monitoring, statistical process control, or random spot checking for quality. This class will cover the definition and management of locations, sample points, and schedule plans. Learn how to use images to visually identify the testing areas. Using hands-on, scripted exercises you will gain experience in tracking down excursions that may be found in your environment.

8:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Securing your LabVantage System

Modern web application security is driven by two factors, the rise of sophisticated exploits, and a large shift of certain workers now working from home. LabVantage has introduced several many security enhancements to make certain that your LabVantage system is secure and robust as the security landscape evolves. This class will focus on modern security education, on how LabVantage has adopted and implemented certain security methods in the software and architecture, and will not focus on hands-on training.
