A. Job Description Objective

The Technical Trainer has key accountabilities in the design, development, delivery and support of technical training programs furthering the mission, vision and technology of LabVantage. The Technical Trainer primary responsibilities include needs assessments, courseware development for in class/online delivery and delivery using multiple methods and modalities. S/he is responsible for responsible for learning success within LabVantage, training customers and will collaborate and partner with resources across the LabVantage organization in order to improve educational impact. The position will identify learning objectives, create training classes and material and deliver/facilitate, as needed. Learning interventions consist of formal classroom training, presentations, support sessions, virtual training, group training and hosting CTEC. Familiar with a variety of training development concepts, practices and procedures included blended learning approaches. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Works with other members of the training staff to achieve measurable results. Seeks to learn and use new and emerging processes and technology to enhance the learner experience based on foundational knowledge of adult educational and learning principles. We are looking for educators who have experience with laboratory information management software systems.

  • Designing course outlines, gathering supporting technical documentation and developing course workbooks, trainer notes and support documentation for end user to advanced developer topics.
  • Works with engineering, technical support and sales to ensure that course material reflects current product features.
  • Maintains communication with customers to ensure effectiveness of training and follows up to determine applicability of course material and strengthen customer relations.

  • Work with Project Managers, Account Managers PMO, Business Analysts and technical teams to assess the training needs.
  • Conducts technical and administrative training courses for customers and/or employees in the use of complex situations for various industries.
  • Instructs participants in both classroom lectures, and virtual sessions.
  • Complete all administrative activities associated with the training
  • Host and deliver trainings at Customer Training and Education Conference (CTEC)

D. Job Qualifications Necessary

  • A bachelor’s degree in a science field such as chemistry, microbiology, or computer scienc
  • 3-5 years of experience in design, development and delivery of training programs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to include presenting in front of a large audienc
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office to include PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Some knowledge of a typical laboratory environment such as testing workflows and sample processing.
  • Ability to receive instructions and work independently using electronic technology.
  • Willingness to travel as much as 50% of the time to possibly include international tri
  • An enthusiasm for computer technology and a zeal for encouraging people towards success through education.
  • Must possess strong technical documentation and organizational skills.
  • Must possess strong communication skills including written and verbal
  • Working with a geographically distributed team including in different countries/time zones is a plus
