For the eighth consecutive year, the AFI Pharmaceutical Association Industry selected Rimini for the annual membership congress, the 52° Symposium AFI, which took place from May 30th to June 1st and brought together more than 1,000 specialists in the Italian pharma industry. For the first time ever, the location was at the new Palacongressi of Rimini. The event, articulated in numerous conferences and workshops in parallel, was organized by the agency of “Aurameeting” events. Pictured to the right is AFI’s president, Alessandro Rigamonti, delivering his introductory speech.

More than 100 companies were present at the exhibition for a total of 1,000 participants during the three day event. Many sessions, organized in compliance with the Ministry of Health’s complex rules, were credited to the system of continuing education in medicine and gave the participants ECM credits.

The congress is now a reference for the Italian community of Pharma industry and enjoys prestigious partnerships like the Agenzia Italiana del Farmaco (AIFA), Istituto Superiore di Sanità e Ministero della Salute.

LABVANTAGE has been attending AFI events since 2003 and has been able to interact with many pharma companies and improve our product portfolio, thanks to our experience and market knowledge.

During this event, with a complete product now available in mobile mode, LABVANTAGE was able to show live demos where all server hardware was hosted in a cloud in the U.S. and the end-user interaction was done using an iPad. In addition to many new features included in the newly released LABVANTAGE 6, the eForms technology has drawn a lot of interest from the visitors as well as the new Business Intelligence solution and the instrument integration interface handled directly from LABVANTAGE 6.

This event was also a great opportunity to meet with existing customers and show what’s new in the application and to present the new training facility in Monza that has been mentioned by “CAMERA DI COMMERCIO DI MILANO” as one of the major investments by the BRIC countries in Lombardia in 2011.
