Our Technical Project Manager, Gabriele Delpogetto, is usually involved in projects with our Italian customers. Sometimes he does tasks as a BA for a few projects including one in Spain. This month, however, he put his “techy” hat to the side and picked up his “athletic” one. He joined fellow colleagues Vitale Ambrosini, Andrea Passoni and Stefano Mazza in the Milano City Relay Marathon on Sunday, April 7th! Their team name was “Stei Focussed.”

MS: Hi Gabriele, tell me how did you get involved with this marathon?

GD: Vitale asked us to run in his team and I accepted mainly because it was a way to share time and goals with other colleagues… I work from home, so this was a great way to get closer to them.

MS: What was your motive for running this relay marathon?

GD: My personal motivation was to share an experience with my colleagues, but as a team we ran for an animal protection association, Ente Nazionale Protezione Animali.

MS: Have you been running for a very long time?

GD: During the past three years, I have participated in half marathons. I usually run eight or nine half marathons a year and I’m trying to train for a 30K, but it’s hard! In the relay race, each teammate ran a total of 10K (6.2 miles) to complete the relay marathon which wasn’t so bad.

MS: How did you train for this event?

GD: The training for this event was not so great…. I tried running an hour each day. This year, the weather in Italy isn’t so great, but I still went to the gym 2-3 times a week.
