Proper training is essential to employee productivity, and hands-on training is the best way to learn how to maximize the use of Sapphire. We are excited to offer a new approach to training. "Sapphire Certification" is now an option. "Introduction to Sapphire" and "Basic Sapphire Administration" are the first in a series of certification classes that are currently available at this time.
Passing multiple course exams will allow you to become "Sapphire Certified" in the Levels defined below (classes may be taken without choosing to take the certification exam):

This course will introduce the student to the components of Sapphire and allow them to work in Sapphire’s "Out of the Box" environment. It will provide the foundation as the entry level for all certification levels. Topics include starting, closing, and verifying components of Sapphire including Jaguar application server, the browser, Evergreen and the Sapphire Console (the web application interface for Sapphire Database installation/maintenance). Familiarity within each of these areas, including navigation, terminology and their interrelationships. The student will learn the Sapphire database structure in terms of its tables, columns, rows and links and will be able to use Sapphire's "Out of the Box" features. Students taking this course do not need to have any previous knowledge of a programming language or database experience. All materials will be provided during the training.

An introduction to the fundamental administrative issues involved in developing, implementing and maintaining the Sapphire environment. This course is primarily designed for those who will be involved with developing and/or maintaining the Sapphire environment. Topics to be covered include: Adding Users and Roles, Creating and Extending Sapphire Data Collection's (SDC), Creating Approval Types, Detection and Specification Limits, Workitems, Creating Parameters and Parameter Lists, Modifying the Site Map, Creating and modifying Maintenance and List Pages and adding them to the site map, adding actions and Javascript to buttons, creating queries and adding search criteria to pages. Students taking this course should have completed the "Introduction to Sapphire" course or have prior database experience. All materials will be provided during the training.

Topics to be covered include data warehousing concepts, Desktop Intelligence data sources and providers, creating reports and charts, building queries, formatting techniques, using the Slice and Dice panel, sorting and filtering, creating drill-down reports, using new Find functionality, creating and applying alerters. This class is designed for both technical and non-technical business analysts working in a business environment who require access to information contained in a data warehouse to generate a variety of reports and graphs utilizing the Desktop Intelligence Basic Reporting tools.
